'We Can Work It Out' - EMI confirms Abbey Road Studios will not be sold...

After speculation that the famous Abbey Road studios were to be sold, the troubled record company EMI confirmed today that this was not the case. It had initially been reported that EMI, owned by the private equity company Terra Firma, was planning to sell the iconic studios in a bid to raise cash to clear their debts. Potential bidders included Andrew Lloyd Webber and the National Trust, among others, who announced an interest in the property. However, it was announced today that the studios, immortalised in the Beatles' Abbey Road LP, would not be sold, but instead 'revitalised', with English Heritage accelerating plans to list the building.

Doubt on the future of The Who as Pete Townsend's tinnitus returns...

The future of The Who has become uncertain as Pete Townsend, the lead guitarist of the classic band, revealed that the tinnitus he has been plagued with due to years of exposure to loud music is back. In an interview with Rolling Stone Townsend commented, 'If my hearing is going to be a problem, we’re not delaying shows. We’re finished. I can’t really see any way around the issue.' The news comes after a jubilant performance at the Super Bowl XLIV's half time show 2 weeks ago, with 150 million viewers tuning in. But now it appears it may have been the last live show for the erstwhile rockers.

MGMT's trippy new album cover (but would we expect anything less?)

MGMT's new album 'Congratulations' is set for release on April 12th. Rumour has it that it feature plenty of flutes, a 12 minute song, and, for the special edition, a rub off cover with a custom metal coin.

Vampire Weekend debut star-studded video for new single...
