Yes its back!!!!

It's Pulses favourite ever time of year, RAGATHON. For one week only we will be uping sticks and moving to the Quad to help raise money for RAG.

To top this off we will be putting on some awesome events through the week.

We're back!

How is it 2012 already? Seems like the Christmas holidays have vanished in the blink of an eye. We hope you all enjoyed decorating the pathetic little tree you got for your halls/flat/house, eating unfathomable quantities of food, unwrapping an ice-cream maker you'll never use, watching Home Alone and The Snowman, and dancing to Wham with an aunty who's had too much port. And in the interests of religious sensitivity, we hope that all of you who don't normally celebrate Christmas thought screw it, let's just go for it in a purely secular fashion by decorating the pathetic little tree you got for your halls/flat/house, eating unfathomable quantities of food, unwrapping an ice-cream maker you'll never use, watching Home Alone and The Snowman, and dancing to Wham with an aunty who's had too much port. Anyway, the good news is it means we are back and broadcasting for Lent Term as of today. Scheduling is largely the same as last term but with a few exciting new additions which will be appearing on our DJs & Shows page soon. Other than that it's business as usual folks. Pulse out. Pulse signs off for the winter

10 weeks down already and it's time for us to say goodbye for the Christmas Holidays. It's been a great first term with some brilliant content being turned out across the board. We will be back on air on January 9th next year and no doubt there'll be more of the same. Also, you never know, we may be having a little schedule shake-up for next term so expect some brand new DJs and shows in January. Last but not least, big thanks to everyone who turned out for the Xmas Party with Loose TV and Clare Market. Was a great night that alas, ended far too early. Heres to hoping for a bigger, better, longer end of year bash next term. Until then though, we hope you all have a wonderful time off and we'll catch you in 2012.

Xmas Party Shenanigans

It's party time people! This year we'll be teaming up with The Clare Market Review and Loose TV for an awesome Christmas party in the final week of term. We're going to be taking over the top floor of the Lock Tavern up in Camden on Tuesday December the 6th from 9ish onwards. We've got some wicked Pulse DJs lined up to take charge of the decks, myself (Stephen) included. We'll also have our own bar and a terrace meaning all you naughty smokers will not have to be banished to the street - how civilised. So, come down for a drink and a dance. There'll be a stall out on Houghton Street selling tickets for a paltry £3. Grab one, RSVP on facebook, and we'll see you there!

Big news people. We Want You! Not in a cliched, jingoistic 'Uncle Sam' way whereby we enforce conscription in the Pulse army; more in a 'hey, you fancy getting involved with Pulse?' way. Basically, whilst we endeavour to keep this website packed with the newest, freshest content we can, we've still got more online upload space than we know what to do with. So, been to an awesome gig lately? Got a brilliant song stuck in your mind? Bought an album that you desperately want to review? Fancy yourself a bit of a DJ and have put together a mix? Maybe you're interested in journalism and have done some interviews (or want to in the future). Well then, send the fruits of your labour to us as we will gladly post it if we like it. That's right: reviews, mixes, interviews... whatever. This notice doesn't just apply to our DJs either, but to all our listeners and the LSE student body as a whole. Our sexy on demand archive computerMorning all. It's Friday and Pulse's first week on air is coming to a close. Hope everyone's enjoyed it and our DJs have on the whole settled in without a hitch (well... almost). Many a Gil-Scott Heron classic has been played in lieu of us celebrating Black History Month all this week at Pulse and as I type this I hear 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' in the background! Anyway, for any of you that missed a show you wanted to listen to this week, or even just for you vain DJs clamouring to hear the sound of your own voice, this weeks shows are now available On Demand. To tune in, simply go to the schedule page and click on the show you're after; it should take you straight to the full mp3 recording of the show in question. In future, links will be posted on the DJs & Shows page where more detailed info on each show (including links to facebook groups) will also be available. Happy listening!!!

Pulse is now On Air!

It's 11am on Monday the 17th of October and Pulse has just gone live on air for this new academic year. Look forward to a wide variety of top notch radio from DJs and presenters both old and new. The brand new schedule and detailed info on our various shows will be appearing on the website soon, as well as in The Beaver throughout the year. So, sit down, relax, and tune in to the official radio station for the LSE.

Get A Show

Thanks to everyone who came to the Welcome Meeting Experience last night! If you didn't get a chance you can sign up online for a slot to come into the studio and pitch your show idea to us. The sign up doc is here and remember to save it and give us your phone number so we can get in touch with you after. The 15 minute slots are this Monday and Tuesday so you need to be quick! If you want a show and have chosen a time you also need to print and fill in this form and bring it along on Monday or Tuesday (if you didn't get one on Thursday). It's just to tell us when you're free to do a weekly show and what you want to call it.

Finally, a word of advice: make sure that you come prepared with an answer to the question "who are your listeners?" - we want you to enjoy broadcasting your sound but we also want you to be heard, so how you attract listeners is key.
