London based independent music newspaper. Found one on a bus once. Great stuff!

Another free music tabloid you certainly shouldn't sniff at picking up. Beats the Evening Standard any day of the week.

Home to the most pretentious music reviews out there, and the brilliant forkcast with free up-and-coming downloads galore.

21st Century Underground Pop Music apparently. Good reviews and weekly mixes.

Stupid name. Nice website. The WTF picture reel has some gems.

An Alternative Freshers Weekend

Looking for something a bit different to do this weekend? New to London and already decided you want a better experience than the standard Freshers student night? Well then Pulse has got your back. Here's a selection of some of the wicked stuff going on tonight:

First up is the newly opened Xoyo, just off Old Street. Tonight it's Neon Noise Project and yes there is an exclusive live appearance by We Have Band.

Next we have Phonica Records taking over Corsica Studios, and when you have DJing legends like Four Tet and Henrik Schwarz packed into one of the best small clubs in the country, you can't really go wrong.

Finally, Ewer Street car park are hosting the legendary Ninja Tune label as they celebrate their 20th birthday. Some tickets left on the door but it's not surprising all the pre-sale have gone when you check out that line-up!

That's all for this weekend. Apologies it's a bit electronically focused but tickets are all sold out for Nick Cave's Grinderman, MGMT's tour with Dum Dum Girls and our beloved Summer Camp. Still, we're actually considering making this a regular feature. Every week our team will recommend a selection of clubs/nights/artists on over the coming weekend and we'll post 'em up here to the music page. No it's no problem. You're welcome loyal listeners. Enjoy!
